As a result, we hunted more does, and as the population reduced and the bucks were left more to their own we started to see those big prize bucks again. There are other things that you can do to increase the chances of big healthy bucks like setting up food plots or leaving feeders full of corn to make sure they are eating. It is also a good idea to leave an area on the property where you don't hunt at all. These all help but keeping the ratios in line is the most effective thing and the field cameras really help with this. Tracking the Population We found that we bought the cameras to improve the hunting on the property but in the end the camera has been almost as much fun as the hunting. It is really interesting to see what you have captured and to see them out there and know they have no idea that you can see them. You might want to look into some security devices and camouflage if you are putting the camera up in a public place as well. They can be very useful, especially if you find the right one for your needs.

What smells like honey and is an all natural wax? Beeswax is all natural and made by honey bees. Beeswax smells very good and it burns longer and brighter than its paraffin counterpart. It's also the easiest wax to work with because you don't need heat to melt it. You'll need a few basic supplies to get started: * scissors * beeswax *cotton wick about half an inch longer than the beeswax sheet. Next you'll want to follow these steps to create your beautiful candle: 1. Fold a sheet of beeswax in half and flatten it along the fold with your hands 2. Cut the sheet in half with your scissors 3. Lay a piece of beeswax on a flat and clean surface. 4. Place the wick on the edge of the beeswax. The wick should extend past both sides of the piece of beeswax. 5. Slowly and carefully start to roll the piece of beeswax over the wick 6. Make sure to tuck the edge of the beeswax in and around the wick to seal it. 7. Roll until you get to about two inches to the end. 8. Once you get about two inches from the end, you'll want to slow down and roll tightly. Once you get to the end, you can use your body heat to soften the edge and press down and seal the candle. Don't press too hard or you'll crack the candle. 9. After rolling, trim the wick at one end so it is flush with the base of the candle. Trim the wick on the other end to about a quarter inch long.

They also burn slowly, giving your candles a long life for you to treasure. Gel candles are very easy to make as well as inexpensive. You can add your favorite scents to them as well. The supplies you need to get started include gel, zinc wicks, fragrance oils if you desire, and dye to add color. Some people love the look of a clear gel candle and prefer not to use any dye. How to make gel candles and is it hard to do? Gel candles can be made in a variety of holders. Using those made of glass will give you the best results. However, as long as the container is non-flammable you will be fine. To add uniqueness to gel candles, some makers choose to make them in fancy glasses, wine glasses, and vases. To add color and themes to candles, consider using embeds. This can be glitter, marbles, colorful rocks, sea shells, crystals, or anything else that won’t burn. You will need a hot glue gun to stick the wick to the bottom of the holder you plan to use. Hold firmly in place until the wick sticks. To make centering easier, mark the bottom of the holder with a red or black marker right in the center. The wick should then be placed on top of the mark. Leave the wick long enough to reach outside of the holder. You will trim it later. To melt the gel, cut it into small strips. For best results melt it in a double boiler at medium heat. The gel should be heated to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. A quality thermometer is a great investment as the gel won’t set properly if you don’t get it hot enough and it will lose the glossy color if you get the temperature too high. If you desire to add color to your gel candles, add it in slowly. The colors show more vibrantly in gel candles than wax candles so you will need a lot less than what you use if you make wax candles. Stir the color into the melted wax slowly. If you aren’t happy with the color you can slowly add more. If you plan to use embedded objects in the candle, it is suggested you keep the gel candle color very light. Next, add fragrance if you desire. 1/3 teaspoon is all you need for each glass of melted gel. For best results, heat your container in the microwave for about one minute. Vanilla extract 1 Cup canned pumpkin 2 Cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. Baking soda 1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon 1/2 tsp. Nutmeg 1/2 tsp. Ginger 1 Cup raisins (optional) Directions : Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. / Yield: About 3 dozen cookies In a large bowl beat margarine and sugar until smooth. We hate throwing away our old memories and stay attached to things that we do not even bother to use or look at anymore. In his study he proves the ‘endowment effect’. This effect is when the owner overvalues the proprietary he owns, e.g. when the owner of a concert ticket only wants to sell it to a higher price that he previously bought the ticket for or for a house. Emotional attachment comes into play. Of course we can argue that the market price plays a role in this, because for instance with the concert ticket. When the concert is sold out people can ask for a higher price for the ticket than they original paid for. Ownership of an item is not the only psychological mindset we have. We can also suffer from the influence of procrastination whereby we already experience like we own the item. Eventually this leads to the option attachment, whereby we like to keep doors open and therefore we can’t close older doors. One solution to these psychological effects is to have additional storage space . With self storage we can keep owning an item until like forever. Of course we can also sell our stuff at a garage sale, but that’s against our psychological nature. The way to tackle this is to become aware of our psychological nature and try to fight it. However, unfortunately I have not met a single person who accomplished this 100%.

Ever since I read about the Casio high speed camera, I was fascinated by its features. The camera promised 1000 frames per second (fps) photography at incredible 1/40,000 sec. speed! I weighed the pros and cons of getting the normal 20x optical zoom model or the pocket version. The pocket version had a lower optical zoom of 5x but there could be more fun carrying it innocuously to parties and social functions. So I ordered the Casio Exilim Ex-FC100 camera from a shop in New York and received it by UPS within a few days. I opened the box and looked at the small 156g camera which was about the size of a normal cell phone, just a little wider and thicker. But on closer look, there seem to be many buttons on it which looked unfamiliar to me. The first remarkable difference is that the movie mode has its own dedicated ON-OFF record button separate from the normal shutter button for taking pictures. This facilitates the taking of snapshots even when the movie clip is being shot! Just below the movie record button is a rotary toggle to change from standard to high definition HD mode. The camera is capable of taking a HD movie at 1280x720 pixels at 30 fps. The STD mode supports high speed movies at 210 fps, 420 fps and 1000 fps. As you climb higher on the fps scale, the size of the image reduces proportionately. The size of the image at 480x360 pixels at 210 fps is acceptable format for YouTube. I tried shooting the flight of pigeon at different speeds, and was surprised at the 1000 fps movie clip. The recorded slow movement of the wings was a pleasure to watch. It displayed how nature has perfected its flying machine; you can see it at YouTube: 7RC2W97_yz0. I recorded a man walking at 210 fps and it unfolded the walking movements which were not evident at normal speed. The movie of a bird flying in the sky at 420 fps was also fun to see. But I soon discovered the limitation of the high speed function. The built-in flash did not support high speed and therefore shooting HS indoors or at night does not give the desired results. The clips are grainy due to high ISO and don’t look that great. The high speed function is therefore useful in shooting sports and interesting movements at outdoor settings preferable in sunlight or really bright light. I shot a movie of the flight of a butterfly in my garden at 420 fps. The movie turned out to be an art film! My jerky hand movements were smoothened by the high speed into a smooth flowing composition! See it on YouTube at 7Q_wZVawYMA After exploring the movie mode, I went on to see what the camera does for the snapshots. I searched for the normal aperture and speed priority settings, but did not find any. The exposure therefore is completely automatic and the camera selects the best exposure by setting the aperture, speed and ISO (in auto mode) on its own. There is nothing manual setting about it. What requires manual settings are a host of options related to speed. Looking at these features you know that it is a versatile high speed camera with potential ability to give you the perfect shot every time. When an event is happening at a fast pace, it is very difficult to capture the right moment. By the time you press the shutter button, you may have missed the exact moment. There are 3 ways by which the camera helps you overcome this hurdle: (1) by offering you a selection from a series of 6M images taken at upto 30 fps just before and after clicking the button; it does that in high speed continuous shooting CS mode or (2) by getting the camera to show you the action in slow motion for you to click at the right moment. When you point and shoot at an object by pressing the button “Slow” located at the top left, the camera begins to record images for the time period chosen by you which can be 1, 2 or 3 seconds. The camera then plays out the stored images slowly at speed chosen by you within the scale of 1 to 8. As the images are played on the screen you have plenty of time to click the right moment of the event by pressing the shutter button. Only the frame which you click is saved on the camera. And finally (3), by capturing and saving multiple pictures at 1 fps in the normal speed continuous mode. The camera takes and saves the 9M sized images as long as the shutter button remains pressed. You can then select the shots that you like. All these three modes give you ways to capture images over the duration of the event so that you do not miss out the precise moment. I found that this was the unique and most useful ability of the camera. On the mundane duty of the camera to take 9M single frame shots, the quality of the pictures at normal settings was not satisfactory. I found that I needed to set Quality at Fine, Sharpness at +2, Saturation at -1 and Contrast at +1 to obtain good shots comparable with my Panasonic camera. The other picture parameters are easy set quickly. Press the button on the bottom right labeled BS which stands for Best Shot. Thumbnail images showing different scenes like outdoor, shade, portrait, high contrast etc. open up on the screen. Just match the scene you are going to shoot with corresponding one and viola; all the settings are automatically done. Overall, I find that the camera can be used to capture a series of pictures covering the time-span of the event from which selection could be made. This is a unique solution to capture the right moments which makes our chosen photographs more eye-catching and free of mis-timed shots. I really do not know whether there is any practical value in everyday photography for its ability to make slow motion movies with high speed recording, though it’s an interesting gimmick. It may have some specific applications in analyzing the movements of sportsmen and actors. The ability of the camera to do HD movies is positively a welcome feature. The EX-FC 100 is undoubtedly a significant step forward in camera innovation. Casio merits applause for launching such a creative camera in the market. As for me, it’s the camera that I would be carrying in my pocket wherever I go.

Establishing your swing plane is a very important aspect of your golf game. In this article we will look at some tips for developing your swing plane So what is the swing plane? Well think of it as the path through the air that the shaft of the club makes when you swing it. However it is, in reality a lot more complicated because of the sheer number of factors at play when you swing a golf club. These include your flexibility, your weight, how tall you are, your posture as you address the ball etc. The plane changes at all points during the course of the swing and no two golfers will have even the most remotely similar swing plane. One player, for example may move the swing plane from the inside to the outside between the back swing and the follow through. Other players could quite easily do the opposite. Having said all of that, in the main, the single most deciding factor of the swing plane is the angle of the head of the club when you address the golf ball. So the swing plane made by a driver is going to be shallower than that that you make with a nine iron. Let's break the swing down into its components and examine what is happening to the swing plane at each stage assuming you are using a driver. A. When you address the ball the shaft of the driver should be at an angle of forty five degrees to the ground. B. In the back swing, once the club is horizontal, the butt of the club should be pointing towards the target. C. When the club gets to the top of the back swing, the shaft should be parallel with your heels. D. On the down swing, when the left arm is horizontal, the butt should again be pointing at the target. E. The contact point with the ball should have the club at the same angle as in A. The top of the back swing needs close attention as this where you can lose a good shot. At this part of the golf swing, the left arm should be parallel with the shoulders. Your right arm should be at right angle with the elbow about six inches from your body. The left arm must be parallel with the club face, which is achieved by keeping your wrist firm. You will probably hook or slice the ball on contact if your wrist flexes either forwards or backwards. Everyone should warm up before exercising and golf is no different. Whether you are a touring pro or a hacker at your local course you always need to warm up. The main benefit is to loosen your muscles which will have huge benefits for your swing action. Golf is such a mental game that anything you can do to increase your confidence is only a good thing. Getting to the first tee nicely warmed up is a great way to make you feel confident for the challenges ahead. The following are few simple warm up exercises you can perform prior to teeing off. Choose a club roughly the same length as your arm and put the grip into your armpit while holding the club by the head. The club shaft runs down the length of the arm and this gives your arm and shoulder a good stretch. The club should be pointing straight up in the air. You can then gently bend forward, engaging your abdominal muscles as you pivot forwards to protect your lower back. This will loosen your lower back which is crucial for the golf swing. Hold this for thirty seconds before coming up slowly exhaling all the way. You should then switch sides and repeat the process. You can do this exercise a few times until you back, shoulders and arms feel nice and loose. To get the swing action nice and loose, select two irons and use them both at the same time to practice your full swing motion, both back and down swings. The extra weight of the clubs will really help to loosen your body. Another exercise that you should also do (Jack Nicklaus does it and if is good enough for him then it is good enough for you and I). To do this, hold a club horizontally at each end behind your back. You should then imagine you are playing a full stroke but keep your hands and arms holding the club behind your back. This gives your back an intense stretch and will help prevent straining the muscles of your back when you hit your first shot for real. Another thing that really helps is to get a lot of freshly oxygenated blood pumping around your body. For this we will borrow an ancient yoga breathing exercise. You can do this locked in the bathroom in the club house if you feel self conscious doing it on the first tee! Stand with your feet together and interlock your fingers underneath your chin, bringing your elbows to touch. Now slowly inhale through your nose for a count of ten. As you inhale, lift your elbows up into the air, keeping your fingers under your chin. After a count of ten, exhale slowly through the nose for another count of ten. As you exhale tilt your head back and slowly bring your wrists, arms and finally elbows to touch in front of you. Then on the inhale open your elbows and bring them slowly up to the vertical again. The main benefit of this is to flood your muscles with highly oxygenated blood which will energize you for the game. The other added benefit is loosening your neck and arm muscles. Hopefully these tips help in your warm up and lead to a better round of golf, and maybe, dare to dream it, a lower score!

A new online resource centre dedicated to improving the repair and recovery of flooded buildings - as well as the protection and resilience of properties under threat from water - has been launched by the Property Care Association (PCA). Part of the Group’s remit is to highlight the expertise of PCA members – whose professional skills include the structural waterproofing of buildings, as well as tackling damp problems - to address the issue. Yasmin Chopin, executive director of the PCA, formerly the British Wood Preserving and Damp-proofing Association (BWPDA), said: “We have recognised the need for a ‘right first time’ approach to flood restoration . “PCA members have a wealth of experience in areas including damp control and below ground waterproofing – and these professional skills lend themselves to the issues of flood recovery and resilient repair. “Solutions include control of water entering a structure in the first place, as well as effective repairs that mean damp is not going to affect a building six months down the line. “For flooded properties, PCA members can offer professional advice on drying-out buildings and what work needs to be done afterwards. They can also measure and monitor damp levels and prevent damp, dry rot and other problems taking their toll on a structure months, or even years, later. “For flood-prone areas, the experience and skills developed by the PCA’s below ground waterproofing experts when creating dry basements can be adapted to use above ground level to create houses that are more resilient to water ingress.” The PCA is a member of TrustMark, the scheme supported by government to help property owners find reliable and trustworthy tradespeople to make home improvements.
